Dear ACP members and friends:
Welcome to our Association of Chinese Professionals in Atlanta (ACP) website, the virtual home for all our members and friends. Founded in 1993, ACP is an independently registered, non-political, non-profit, professional organization in the United States of America. We are the largest Chinese professional talent pool in Georgia, as well as in the entire southeastern region. All Chinese professionals, regardless of nationality, are welcome to join.
The goals of ACP are to unite Chinese professionals; serve the Chinese community; inherit the Chinese culture; and promote China-US friendship. ACP utilizes the two great natural resources of our members for achieving these four goals, which are expertise in science, technology, economics, cultures, management, and other related areas, together with the members’ natural connections with China.
ACP promotes cultural, economic, and scientific cooperation and exchanges between the US and China by encouraging the active involvement of its members in these areas and by providing services and opportunities for friendship, networking, and collaboration among its members, and between members and the larger community. Most of the ACP members have Master’s or Doctorate degrees in science, engineering, art, education, law, medicine, business administration, or other areas, and work in small to large companies, so that members and society benefit alike from this pool of talent.
Furthermore, ACP offers its members and friends a platform for scientific, economic and cultural exchange and sharing of experiences; enabling talent recruiting and career development; bridging of cultures and facilitating of understanding between the Chinese community and the rest of society; and promoting business collaboration by providing opportunities for friendship, networking, and other forms of communication among its members as well as between members and the business community.
Every year, ACP organizes many exciting events and activities for our members and friends. These events include professional seminars and workshops; international conferences (scientific or cultural); hosting or co-hosting of delegations from the Greater China region; and the provision of other social and networking activities.
It is a great honor to be the ACP President for 2011-2012. In the coming year, we will continue wholeheartedly to serve our members, corporate sponsors and the wider community. Our main objectives for this term are: 1) to expand on our events and activities for the increased benefit of our members; 2) to partner with other Asian organizations in the co-hosting of events, enhancing network bridges among our organizations, and the building of a better community together; and 3) to reinforce our working relationships with local US governmental offices and news agencies.
If you are a current member, please visit our website often. We welcome your comments and input regarding our upcoming activities. Your contributions will help our association to develop into a better organization.
If you are not a member, please register through our website. You will become part of our family and have access to a great deal of useful information. In addition, you will be connected to all ACP members and be a part of our mutual endeavors. We look forward to meeting you.

Shaohua(Sean) Hu, M.D., Ph.D.
