2010 SCHOLARSHIP AWARD APPLICATION PURPOSE: To recognize Asian-American high school seniors in the State of Georgia for academic, leadership involvement, community service and athletic excellence and achievements. ELIGIBILITY: Applicants must be of Asian American descent and a college bound high school students in Georgia. SUBMISSION PROCEDURES: One copy of the application form, official high school transcripts, SAT or ACT records, and any other supporting documents are to be received by no later than May 17, 2010. SCHOLARSHIP DESCRIPTION & RULES: The applicants will be judged on their academic, leadership involvement, athletic and community service activities and accomplishments. OCA-Georgia/ACP-Atlanta Scholarship Committee will award the scholarships at the Asian Pacific Heritage Celebration banquet in May. The scholarship awards are as follows: • Minimum Award for Overall Excellence - $600 This is for the top applicant who demonstrates overall excellence in all 3 categories stated below. • Minimum Award for Academic Excellence - $300* This is for the top applicant who demonstrates excellence in academics • Minimum Award for Leadership Excellence - $300* This is for the top applicant who demonstrates excellence in leadership involvement • Minimum Award for Community Service Excellence - $300* This is for the top applicant who demonstrates excellence in community service and involvement. • Minimum Award for Athletic Excellence - $300* This is for the top applicant who demonstrates excellence in athletics *One male and one female recipient for this category
